The world will tell you one thing but what matters the most is how faithful you are to the Lord. I have always been brought up in church and at times it really felt like a chore going to Sunday morning service because I didn’t have a personal relationship with God. As someone who would wake up early for Sunday service, I always wanted to just get through the sermon but never processed what the Pastor was talking about. I was not applying the messages to my everyday life and was not even staying active in my Bible. I truly was a lost soul because I did not want to lose the friends I had or be mocked for who I should be without being judged. The kids I grew up with were pretty ruthless to say the least.
It was not highly common like it has become to believe in Jesus and make it known. Now there is a revival going on and more people are finding their faith and understanding what being a God follower is like. Some of the people who I never thought would turn their life around have openly proclaimed their faith by seeking Him and getting baptized. I have also become a strong Christian who has a personal relationship with Christ; between being baptized, attending various groups, serving, Bible studies and just seeking Him on my own, I have been able to understand what it truly means to walk with Christ. Now there are hard days but that is when I need to lean on Him even more. We often will get tested in life because the world is turned upside down and sin festers on us Christian’s who are walking with Christ. When this happened I had to pray extra hard and ask that God remove anything demonic from my life because if not, it will end up leading me astray.
My endless goal is to stay strong and be hungry for more of the Lord. I do not want to go down the rabbit hole again and be who I once was without actively seeking Jesus. He will open doors if you let Him and if you truly do believe. It will never be our timing but His because He knows what is best for each and very one of us. The outcome that occurs is always so much better than what we want even if we do not see it right away. It truly makes sense; every time I have tried shifting Gods plan, I have never been happier – I always end up feeling depressed or lost.
The journey is not easy but when you are surrounded by like minded people who you can do life with it makes all the difference in the world. You will lose friends along the way because that is part of growing as a person and growing in your relationship with Christ. When I first got back into church, I lost friends which hurt at the time but then I realized that God had them fulfill their time in my life. I have then gained many more people; more than I can imagine and truly am blessed. The times when I think I’m alone it’s just my thoughts taking over and means to pray more.
